For me, the time has come to give back. The specialty coffee industry has provided me the opportunity to start and grow a business doing something I enjoy doing and I want give back to coffee people. But in the same way that SCAA must earn its leadership position in the world of coffee, I feel like I must earn my leadership opportunity at SCAA. I will do this by doing what I say I’m going to do and leading with action, not just words. All the candidates running for a seat on the board have already given a great deal to the association and now they are asking to do more when a lot of time will still be spent fixing problems from the past. It’s a tough time to be on the board and I’m proud to be among such qualified candidates.
